COMPANY: Worldwide biotechnology company engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and commercialization of pharmaceuticals. The major therapeutic areas include: oncology, hematology, cardiology and immunology.
LOCATION: The MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON is field based and will be in the southeast region.
SALARY: 120-170K
PURPOSE: Will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key thought leaders, clinicians, major medical institutions and scientific associations; supporting Respiratory/Asthma clinical programs in the southeast region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacts with thought leaders and clinicians in delivering clinical research ideas, education, disease or therapeutic concepts and issues involving respiratory/asthma products (marketed and investigational drugs) .
Manages and develops Investigator Sponsored Trials (IST) and maintains an interactive relationship with key opinion leaders and study investigators.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of both clinical and commercial strategies and priorities; coordinating and facilitating the IST program within the US and in collaboration with the company’s corporate partner.
Builds advocacy with key customers and accounts.
Works with clinical investigators to develop clinical research proposals and to evaluate clinical protocols.
Monitors progress of studies and works with clinical investigators to publish and/or present data in abstracts and manuscripts.
Conducts technical presentations to advance the company’s research or to expand current product usage.
Participates in medical education programs and disseminates technical information regarding research and disease concepts and to identify competitive advantages or potential new uses of the company’s products.
Will make clinical and product presentations on request from thought leaders, clinicians or medical institutions.
Attends scientific meetings, reviews scientific journals and partners with internal company clinical research and marketing personnel to foster information on medical research and product usage.
Provides on going support to the sales organization and provides research, education, medical information as well as clinical/competitive trends and new product opportunities in the treatment of asthma in adults and children.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced degree in a medically relevant clinical discipline (M.D/PharmD/PhD OR Rph with MBA).
Several years of clinical research experience in respiratory or immunology.
Related pharmaceutical industry experience in a field based position in clinical research or as a medical liaison is also preferred
Must have effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; and strong leadership skills.
