Pharmacy Technician Registration in California is governed by the California State Board of Pharmacy. A California Pharmacy Technician is an individual who, under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist, performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other non-discretionary tasks related to the processing of a prescription in a licensed pharmacy, but excludes all functions restricted to a registered pharmacist. To work as a pharmacy technician in California, you must possess and keep current registration as a pharmacy technician. The Pharmacy Technician application forms may be obtained by download only.
